The museum is located on Place Julia, right in the centre of Pont-Aven.

We encourage our visitors to use sustainable transport to travel to the museum!

Number 2 bus: Concarneau ⬄ Pont-Aven (via Trégunc) – “Pont-Aven centre” bus stop

Regular routes in the CCA area:

  • 6 regular routes (1 to 6) through Concarneau, Trégunc, Rosporden and Pont-Aven.
  • Route 2 runs from Concarneau to Pont-Aven via Trégunc.
  • Route 4 runs from Concarneau to Rosporden railway station.
  • Summer routes in the CCA area.

🚲 Bikes are allowed on bus routes 1, 2 and 3 at certain times. The times at which bikes are allowed are indicated by a pictogram on the timetables. On bus route 4 and the Coralie Plage summer service, bike racks are installed at the rear of the coach during the summer and can carry up to 8 bikes. Advance booking recommended.

Packs of tickets can be purchased at the tourist information offices in Trégunc, Névez, Pont-Aven and Rosporden.

Parking in Pont-Aven

  • Free parking with no time limit:
  • Parking Bel Air, Parking de Pontic Malo, Parking de la Belle Angèle, stade Henri Sinquin.
  • Free time-limited parking in the town centre: 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the location.
  • A parking disc must be displayed.

Paid parking from 15 June to 15 September along Pont-Aven harbour: €0.50 per 30 minutes.

Closest railway stations: Quimperlé (12 km) and Rosporden (14 km)

Road

Take the RN 65, Pont-Aven exit (6 km). Traffic is dense in the town centre in summer, from around 15 June to 15 September.

  • While you are here, we recommend visiting the Musée de la Pêche in Concarneau! This specialised fishing museum harbours many treasures such as the Hémérica, a fishing vessel built in 1957. This vessel, now permanently in dock, is accessible to museum visitors and is deemed to be one of the museum’s top attractions.   • Nestled on the banks of the river Aven, Pont-Aven never fails to charm its visitors with its picturesque streets, its rich artistic culture and its delicious butter biscuits, the famous “galettes de Pont-Aven”!

    From its humble beginnings as a small riverside trading town where goods transited from river to sea, Pont-Aven rose to become the Cité des Peintres in the 19th century, the favoured holiday destination of a colony of painters. These artists revealed this little corner of Breton soil to the world at large and earned the town its artistic reputation for many years to come. Pont-Aven continues to keep this tradition alive and today is home to around sixty art galleries and artists’ studios.
